RAINFOREST WALKS

Relax and reconnect with nature by walking through Songbirds’ rainforest pathways and Mount Tamborine’s national parks. Songbirds’ guests have exclusive use of more than 50 acres of pristine rainforest.
Meander along the easy to follow tracks at your leisure. Meet the amazing creatures and colourful birds that inhabit this beautiful countryside. Be enthralled by ancient rainforest trees and exotic plants. Drop in on the family of ducks who live by the pond. Spot the pademelons in the bush and see koalas lazing in the trees.

Visit the Knoll National Park; it takes about 45 minutes to complete the walk along 22 kilometres of graded walking tracks. Tamborine National Park is a great place for relaxed bushwalking. There are a variety of walks that take half a day or less.

Songbirds Rainforest Retreat features Songbirds in the Forest – a multi-award winning restaurant described by several food writers as Queensland’s best dining experience. The restaurant serves lunch Wednesday to Sunday and dinner on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.

WITCHES CHASE CHEESE & MT TAMBOURINE BREWERY

Visit Witches Chase and see artisan style cheese and gourmet ice cream in the making. Try a variety of award winning local cheese including Tamembert and Witches Blue Vein – one of only two Queensland-made blue cheeses. Visitors can view the making process and enjoy a free taste of cheese and ice cream. Our new shop front and factory has opened at the Southern end of Gallery Walk (North Tamborine).

TAMBORINE MOUNTAIN DISTILLERY

Visit the international award winning Tamborine Mountain Distillery, one of only a handful of privately owned distilleries and Australia’s smallest operating distillery. Tamborine Mountain Distillery uses a traditional copper pot still to distil a variety of locally grown fruit. The fruit is used in a variety of handmade liqueurs. The distillery’s melon liqueur won the prestigious Internationaler Spirituofen Wettbewerg (gold medal) in Germany. International standard schnapps and liqueurs are available to taste and buy. ARTS AND CRAFTS

Here at Songbirds we are priviliged to have the amazing work of sculptor Antone Bruinsma on permanent exhibition in our beautiful gardens. See arts and crafts at Gallery Walk, Mount Tamborine every day of the week. Local markets are held on the second Sunday of each month at the showgrounds on Main Western Road and the last Sunday of each month at the school grounds on Curtis Road. Markets open from about 7.30am until around 2pm.

A SCENIC PICNIC

Enjoy a picnic hamper in Songbirds’ grounds or visit one of Mount Tamborine’s many picturesque locations. On Sundays, hang gliders and para-gliders add to the scene as they leap off the mountain at the Rotary lookout. Order picnic hampers from reception.
