Weddings reach new heights at Songbirds

Since Songbirds opened in December 2004 thousands of people have enquired about wedding parties and garden ceremonies. Songbirds’ director Bonnie Rodwell has now decided to offer a limited number of exclusive wedding packages. Couples will be able to book up to five villas per party – allowing a maximum number of 10 guests to stay at the luxurious rainforest retreat.

“I imagine the bride and bridesmaids would want to stay at Songbirds the night before the wedding. This would give them the opportunity to relax and enjoy some special pampering and therapeutic massage treatments before the big day. The bride and her attendants can wake to the sound of the birds and take their time to prepare in the privacy of their villas,” Bonnie says.

Wedding ceremonies will be held in the landscaped grounds surrounded by rainforest. A minimum of 30 guests will have exclusive use of the restaurant for up to five hours. A selection of menus will be offered with prices starting from $138 per person. This includes a glass of Cloudy Bay’s superior sparkling wine and canapés on arrival, breads, an entrée, main course and dessert with tea or coffee and petit fours.

Wedding planners will be able to select the menu and accompanying wines from Songbirds award-winning wine list. Costs will vary according to menu content, beverage packages and additional items such as table décor.
