| Songbirds in the Forest has reopened after an extensive
refurbishment, as a dynamic new al fresco and fine dining
restaurant, combining the natural beauty of its surroundings with
sensational food, friendly service, and the essence of Tamborine
Mountain's relaxed lifestyle.
Set away from the hustle and bustle of Tamborine Mountain's busy
Gallery Walk, Songbirds is ideally located amongst the Heritage
listed forests of North Tamborine.
Restaurant owner, Bonnie Rodwell, explains that Songbirds is the
perfect location for intimate, private or group dining, with its
manicured lawns and lush surroundings offering a cooler escape from
the city on hot summer days and nights.
Bonnie has also managed to lure award-winning chef de cuisine,
Daran Glasgow (previously of Restaurant b at Main beach) to the
mountain, where his expertise in fine dining and knowledge of food
marriages will add the perfect finishing touch to the
restaurant.
Serious foodies will be flocking to songbirds to savour Daran's
latest culinary offerings. His fusion style of cuisine features
elements of Asian, Australian and traditional European cuisines -
all playing their part in the overall picture of tastes.
He is also extremely excited with his soon to launch - monthly
'cooking classes', which will add another dimension to his
talents.
Daran will also be inviting guest chefs and industry
representatives to assist himself and sous chef Todd Stuart, for
specific courses - all in these wonderful surroundings.
Songbirds ambience exudes the perfect laid-back atmosphere for
making choices from the always changing menu - the restaurant was
purposely designed with 'time' in mind. Time to relax in the comfy
lounges and ample cushion covered outdoor seating. Time to
encourage diners to relax and enjoy the dining expierience in these
superb surroundings. Time to linger in perfect harmony with
nature.
The restaurant's overall appeal encourages contemplation,
conversation and camaraderie, whether shared over a glass of fine
champagne or Daran's stunning food.
